There is no scope for compromise or concession with regard to protection of Sharia - Syed Rabey Hasani Nadvi

Kochi:  Addressing the Ernakulam district conference of Jamaat e Islami Hind as the Chief Guest, the President of Muslim Personal Law Board Syed Rabey Hasni Nadvi asserted that there can be no compromise or concession with regard to protection of Sharia. He further added that Muslim community will not allow anyone to tamper with the Sharia laws and will steadfastly oppose attempts to curtail the constitutionally guaranteed right to live as per the beliefs of one's religion. Hasan Nadvi pointed out that there is a concerted effort to spread a distorted view of Sharia law. This can only be viewed as part of attempts to bring in a uniform Civil code. He called on all the Muslim organizations of Kerala to support the efforts of Muslim personal Law board to protect Sharia.

S. Ameenul Hassan, Central Committee member of Jamaat e Islami Hind inaugurated the conference. In his inaugural address, he said that the challenge faced by India is the inability of the ruling establishment to follow a balanced and unbiased approach while dealing with the different sections of the society. The authorities, while pretending to take care of the weaker sections of the society is protecting the interests of the high and mighty.

The conference was conducted under the theme "Islam is harmonious" and was presided over by the Kerala Ameer of Jamaat e Islami hind, MI Abdul Azeez. Member of Parliament, ET Muhammad Basheer, Assistant Ameers , P Mujeeb Rahman and VT Abdullah Kaya, Yusuf Umari , Fathima Suhara , T. Shakkir , CT Suhaib and Ruksana spoke on the occasion.

Over 25000 delegates participated in the conference. As souvenir of the conference 4 houses were built for four homeless families. In the conference premises a highly informative exhibition showcasing the history of Jamaat e Islami hind, it's feeder organizations and its various wings was conducted.  District President, Abubakker Farooqi welcomed the gathering and KK Salim, General Convener of the conference delivered the vote of thanks.
